The project consisted of the partial demolition of the existing workshop and offices and construction of new sales and servicing offices and workshop area. Total floor area of the offices and workshop is 1700 sqm. External works consisted of 5000sqm of hot-mix area and a 130sqm Truck Wash shed. The site is also equipped with fire fighting capability including water storage tanks and pumps.

Partial demolition of the existing workshop and office and construction of a new portal framed workshop and extension to the offices. An underground service pit was incorporated to the workshop slab along with brake testing units.


The administration area was steel framed and walls are brickwork. The workshop area is portal framed and clad with sheet metal. The existing structural steel and bracing was altered to accept the new building. A below ground service pit was installed in the workshop. A strict water proofing process was adhered to for the pit to avoid future water problems.


Ground water was encountered during excavation for the service pit. Also, structural issues associated with the existing building were overcome to accept the new design.
